Well, I can tell you I’m grateful that there are not camera’s in my basement today. Because the nervous dance I just did was kind of embarrassing. I can’t decide if I’m really hungry or if I need to throw up.
Second Star: Breaking Through just went live on Amazon and Apple, and in a few short hours it will be available on Barnes and Noble, Google Play Store, Kobo, Scribd, and Page Foundry. It was a challenge learning how to work with several different venues to get everything right, but in the end, I am satisfied with them all. I finalized the paperback version on CreateSpace this afternoon and it looks fantastic.
You know that feeling you get when you get halfway to work and suddenly can’t remember whether or not you closed the garage door? Yeah, that’s what I’m feeling right now. I know that I have put together the best product I could, one that I think people will enjoy and talk about, but that little voice in the back of my head is telling me that someone just walked off with my lawn mower. (Did you follow that? I almost didn’t)
Bah! I’m nervous, I’m not ashamed to admit it, but I’m very excited to share my vision with people all over the world. If just one person connects to my story and likes it, that’s enough for me.
I learned a ton about Indie Publishing in the last two weeks, and while there are a few things I’m going to do differently next time, overall I enjoyed the experience and I’m glad I decided to go this route.
The first draft of Second Star: Book Two (shhhhh…..the title is secret) is almost finished and hopefully I will be able to jump into edits and rewrites through November and have a workable beta draft by December. We will see. This new baby eats a ton of formula…and time.
I’d like to give a big shout out to my wife, Jamie, who smiles and kisses me on my head and tells me “It’s okay.” Her support though the last few months has been unbelievable.
And a big thank you goes out to everyone who drop by this lowly webpage to checkout my ramblings. I look forward to keeping you all entertained with more reviews and interviews and shanigans in the coming months!
