well...she was...yeah I know...*facepalm*
(My wife is secretly an Iraqi K-9 Torturer)
Off topic? Maybe...but that's been my whole month.
It’s been a long (off-topic) month and sadly was no where near as productive as I’d hoped for. (Babies are kind of needy…who knew?)
I’ve been stealing time when I can, mostly in tiny increments, and have been able to put together a barebones first draft for Second Star: Book Two. (I’m still trying to come up with a title.) Revisions are going…well, as well as revisions can go. I’m also working a short story, which focuses on my antagonist, (shhhhhh…I know you know, but it’s still a secret—G14 Classified) which I’m going to release along with Book Two.
My plan is to keep plugging away on Book Two and hopefully have an alpha or beta version done by the first of the year. Growing the characters and the history of Neverland is a big part of this book and it’s taking me a little longer than I planned to get it just right. For those interested in getting on my beta list, I have a few open spots and I’ll be putting together a sign up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
November is National Novel Writing Novel, and after spending a week back in September planning for it, I made it about five days before I ran out of minutes and hours and days. UGH! I had a kickass writing plan, too! But, alas, in the end, I decided I should probably dedicate what little time I did have, to Second Star.
I’ve been talking with a graphic designer about covers for the series and just got the rough layout yesterday and let me tell you, I’m excited! Hopefully, in the next few weeks we’ll have something to share them with you guys.
So, on a non-writing-note, I hope all of you had a fun holiday!
Mine was filled with turkey, family and football…I don’t think it gets any better than that! Seriously, I’ve been on a three-day eating binge, a non-stop smorgasbord of turkey, mashed taters, cream corn and pecan pie! I’m not going to eat for week. Thanksgiving is definitely my fattest holiday. That, and Christmas, and the 4th, and Labor Day, and well…you get the idea.
For the three of you who actually check my website on a regular basis, I apologize…I’ve been slacking. I promise it’ll get better! I’ll have a few more reviews coming this month and a preview of Book Two for those who are interested!
Until then, enjoy the rest of your holiday! Go Chiefs!
Josh
